Shanghai, China – October 9th, 2013 – Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College’s (LRJJ’s) CEO, Ms. Judy Hou, has had part 1 of a 2-part article published that defines Generation Y’s main characteristics, including characteristics of the ‘Post-80’s’ generation, Gen Y’s equivalent in China.
The article explores how these key traits become visible within the day-to-day workings of the international hospitality industry, particularly with insight into the Greater China region. The article gives perspective on how Gen Y employees may best be placed within a hospitality organization; how their skillsets may best be applied within the service industry; the kind of organizational structure and corporate cultures they may best operate under; and matters of Gen Y's values, perceptions, expectations, desires, and motivations.
Les Roches Jin Jiang in partnership with industry partner Hilton Worldwide recently hosted a 2-day Generation Y Conference in Shanghai, alongside conducting a recent survey on Generation Y that captured the attitudes and opinions of hospitality students and graduates regarding a range of key employer choice indices. The published article reports on some of the key findings of this survey, and identifies top features thatattract Gen Y to a company along side benefits that can help to retain them.
