FAQs

Will I learn Chinese during my Semester Abroad studies at Les Roches Jin Jiang in China?
Yes, to a certain level you will be attending compulsory Chinese language and Cross-cultural immersion courses.

Where can I find the LRJJ bank account details?
As soon as you have submitted the Application Form to your Enrollment Counselor and your application has been reviewed, our registrar will issue an Acceptance Letter. You will then receive the bank account details together with the Acceptance Letter.

Will my classes be mixed with Chinese students?
Yes, we treat all students equally. Mixing with the Chinese students in the classroom will be your first step towards learning about Chinese Culture.

Will I be provided with a uniform?
Uniform for students of the Hospitality Preparatory Program and Undergraduate Program is included in the main fees for direct entry and transfer students; however, during the first two weeks, students are required to wear their own business attire. For males: 2 suits with trousers, 3 white shirts, 2 ties, 1 sweater, 2 T-shirts (service uniform), 2 kitchen jackets and 2 kitchen trousers. For females: 2 suits with skirts, 1 pair of trousers, 3 white blouses, 1 sweater, 2 T-shirts (service uniform), 2 kitchen jackets and 2 kitchen trousers. Postgraduate Program students are not provided with a uniform; however, they are expected to wear formal business attire (important: dark color suits). Transfer students are allowed to wear uniform from sister campuses.

What is the fee structure at LRJJ?
The full fee package includes: tuition fee, board (Monday - Friday Breakfasts and Lunches will be provided in the College building; Dinners will be credited to your meal card which can be used within the University Campus), uniform (for Hospitality Preparatory Program students and Undergraduate students) as well as the shared twin room accommodation in the standard college hotel. Different accommodation options are available upon request and at a reasonable additional charge; please refer to theTuition and Other Fees form.

Can I stay in China with the same visa for my internship?
Your F-Visa is only valid for the duration of your academic studies. You will have to leave China to renew your visa in your home country (extension in China is not possible); however some nationalities can renew an F-visa in Hong Kong. To renew an F-Visa for the internship you need an acceptance letter from an employer, who will offer the internship to you. In most cases the F-Visa will be valid for 3 to 6 months.

Does Les Roches Jin Jiang assist students on securing their internships as well as work positions upon graduation?
The Career Development and Industry Placement office of Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College puts a lot of emphasis into nurturing industry relations; at the same time the Academic Department ensures that students are equipped with up-to-date theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The latest internship placement review of Les Roches Jin Jiang graduates who started their internships in July 2009 demonstrates outstanding results as follows: 95% graduates had confirmed internships before the semester ended, with an average 3-4 job offers per student. 74% of the interns are placed in leading international branded hotels: 20% Accor (3rd largest global hotel chain) 15% The Peninsula 15% Hyatt 8% Starwood (Hilton, Westin, etc.) 4% Howard Johnson, Holiday Inn, Marriott, Jin Jiang 4% Intercontinental 4% Langham 4% Radisson Other interns have been placed within leading Chinese 5-star hotel properties.

Can I graduate from Les Roches Jin Jiang with a Bachelor Degree?
Currently, Les Roches Jin Jiang does not offer a Bachelor degree. However, you can start your studies at Les Roches Jin Jiang, gain a Diploma in international Hotel Management and then apply to transfer to one of our sister campuses or partner institutions in Switzerland, Spain, Australia or the USA for Degree completion.
