Les Roches Jin Jiang Lecturer David Francis recently attended the 14th International Conference on Intellectual Capital, Knowledge Management & Organisational Learning in Hong Kong.
Held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University December 7th/8th , ICICKM is a well-established platform for individuals to present their research findings, display their work in progress and discuss conceptual advances in many different branches of Intellectual Capital and Knowledge Management.

A peer review chose 40 Academic papers, 4 PhD Papers and 3 Masters Research papers out of 131 submitted abstracts that were then discussed and presented in the conference proceedings.
Among those was David Francis paper titled ‘ Socialization and Friendship as the Panacea for Turnover in the Hospitality Industry’ which he shared in front of an international audience of fellow scholars and teachers.

“It was great to share findings and explore theories with like-minded professionals at the conference. Just as the Industry constantly evolves, so has our teaching be adapted to changing realities and circumstances.”, said David Francis after his return from the conference. “I would like to thank LRJJ for the support and opportunity to represent our college in Hong Kong.”

David also attended the Social Media in Practice Excellence Awards at the Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius (Lithuania) earlier this year where he was one of the finalists with his paper based on innovative, creative and effective approaches to the application of Social Media initiatives.
