Our students develop a high degree of fluency in both business and informal English during the course of their studies.

Since all our classes are taught in English, your ability to read, write and speak English needs to be fairly strong before you start your undergraduate or postgraduate program.

We have a range of language programs that will help you develop the your English and reach the requirement of IELTS academic English score of 5.0  in order to successfully pursue your hospitality degree at LRJJ.

UNDERGRADUATE & POSTGRADUATE
Hospitality Preparatory Program

Our hospitality preparatory program prepares you to meet the English language requirements for entry into your undergraduate or postgraduate diploma program at Les Roches Jin Jiang. The program will place you in an appropriate program level according to your existing level of English, and the total program duration will depend on your English level. Courses focus on intensive English learning in small groups, and key aspects of hospitality English are introduced.

The Hospitality Preparatory Program (HPP) also aims to introduce students to hospitality, raising their cultural awareness in preparation for further studies at Les Roches Jin Jiang when joining the main program.

Students will be placed in the appropriate program level according to their English level assessed by a placement test, equivalent to the IELTS English exam, taken on the check-in day on campus. There are in total two different levels and each level is a 18-week course.

  • Duration: 18 weeks
  • Location: Les Roches Jin Jiang, China
  • Intakes: 2 (February /August – September)
  • Minimum English level: IELTS Academic Module Overall Band Score of above 2.0 (for HPP 1 Level) or 3.0  (for HPP 2 Level)

The hospitality preparatory program at Les Roches Jin Jiang features two different levels of English proficiency levels. Both levels are taught in an 18 week course. Based on the results of your English level assessment test (taken when you arrive on campus), you will begin your preparatory program in HPP 1 or HPP 2.

  • Hospitality English: 3 hours per week
  • Computer Assisted Language Learning: 2 hours per week
